These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of returntotrueself.co (the "Site") and any products or services purchased from us, including the Return to Self guide, free resources, and the Foundations 1:1 coaching container ("Services").
By using the Site or purchasing any Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or purchase Services.
We are Return to Self, an Australian sole trader operating from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase any product or service. By making a purchase, you confirm you are at least 18 years old.
2. The Return to Self guide
Purchase
The Return to Self guide is a digital product delivered as a PDF. The price is USD $97. Upon successful payment, the guide is delivered to your email address as a downloadable file.
Licence
When you purchase the guide, you receive a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to read and use it for your own personal use. You may:
- Read the guide on any number of personal devices
- Print physical copies for your own use
- Reference and quote brief passages with attribution to "Return to Self"
You may not:
- Resell, distribute, sublicense, or share the guide with others
- Reproduce substantial portions of the guide in your own publications, websites, courses, or commercial materials
- Use the guide or its frameworks to train AI models, machine-learning systems, or any automated content generation system
- Translate or adapt the guide without written permission
- Remove copyright notices or attribution from the guide
If a friend or family member would benefit from the guide, please direct them to the sales page rather than forwarding the file.
Refund policy
We offer a 30-day full refund on the guide. If within 30 days of purchase you find the guide does not land for you, reply to your purchase confirmation email and we will refund you in full. No explanation required.
After 30 days, refunds are not available except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
3. Foundations container (1:1 coaching)
Purchase
The Foundations container is six 90-minute one-to-one coaching sessions over six weeks, delivered via Zoom. The price is USD $1,170, paid in full at booking, or in two payments of USD $585 across the first two weeks of the engagement. The Return to Self guide is included.
Booking and scheduling
Once you purchase, you book your sessions through our scheduling system. Sessions can be rescheduled with 24 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be forfeit.
We will hold your container open for up to 12 weeks from purchase. If you have not completed all six sessions within 12 weeks, remaining sessions may be forfeit unless we mutually agree otherwise.
What's included
- Six 90-minute Zoom sessions
- Session recordings (if you wish)
- Email support between sessions for clarifying questions related to session content
- The Return to Self guide
What's not included
- Daily check-ins or unlimited messaging
- Crisis or emergency support
- Medical, psychiatric, or psychological diagnosis or treatment
- Legal, financial, or career advice
Coaching, not therapy
Foundations coaching is not psychotherapy, psychiatry, medical care, or a substitute for any of these. We do not diagnose or treat any condition. We do not prescribe medication. Refund policy
Foundations refunds operate as follows:
- Before any session has occurred: full refund within 7 days of purchase
- After session 1: 50% refund within 14 days of session 1
- After session 2: no refund. The work has begun and the time has been reserved.
We reserve the right to terminate the engagement (with full or partial refund of unused sessions, at our discretion) if continuing would not be in the best interests of either party.
Confidentiality
What you share in sessions is held in strict confidence, except:
- Where you give us written permission to share
- Where we are required by law to disclose (subpoena, court order)
- Where we believe there is imminent risk of serious harm to you or another person
- Where required by professional standards (e.g. mandatory reporting of harm to children)
4. Free resources
Free resources (the Symptom Decoder, the Shared Root essay, blog posts, social media content) are provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may share them in their original, unmodified form with attribution. You may not republish them as your own work, modify them, or use them commercially.
5. Intellectual property
All content on the Site and in our Services — including text, graphics, frameworks (specifically The Five A's™), logos, designs, and the Return to Self brand — is owned by Return to Self and protected by copyright and trademark law.
The Five A's™ is an unregistered trademark of Return to Self. You may reference the framework with attribution but may not use it as the basis for your own commercial products or programs without written permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site or Services for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or systems
- Scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of Site content
- Use the Site or Services to harass, threaten, or harm others
- Misrepresent yourself or your identity when interacting with us
- Use the Services to train AI or machine-learning systems
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
General disclaimer
The Site and Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, except those required under Australian Consumer Law. We do not guarantee specific outcomes, recovery, healing, or symptom resolution. Individual results vary. The work asks something of you, and outcomes depend significantly on your engagement with it.
Health disclaimer

Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Site or Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or emotional distress, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law or other consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
8. Australian Consumer Law
If you are an Australian consumer, you have rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by these Terms. These include guarantees that goods and services will be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and as described.
If we breach a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement, or compensation. Nothing in these Terms limits these rights.
9. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or our Services will be resolved in the courts of Victoria, Australia, unless required otherwise by consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
Before pursuing legal action, please contact us at hello@returntotrueself.co to attempt to resolve the issue directly. We respond to disputes in good faith.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified by email or prominent Site notice. Your continued use of the Site or Services after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
